Leisl Egan

Several years ago Leisl used to study zoo-keeping, but then changed her mind after an altercation with a binturong. After a lengthy pursuit by police she made it across the state border and has assumed the role of a mild mannered television writer who commits crimes in her spare time. She tweets at @Girlinahat when she should be writing for The Project.

Warwick Holt

Warwick’s both writer and web producer at The Project, in charge of the content of this here site. So blame him, basically. He’s previously written for TV shows like Good News Week, The Glass House, Good News World, The Sideshow and Forlorn Gaze and has won awards, funding and children. On the side he runs a media empire, known as “Media Empire”, and doesn’t tweet much @wokholt.

Chris Kennett

Chris Kennett is a writing good-guy who used to work for Rove. He never grew out of Magic: The Gathering and once destroyed a 42-inch LCD TV by hurling a Wiimote into it. His skills include flawless enunciation of the word ‘charcoal’ and hiding in the toilets during performance reviews. He joins The Project team at a critical juncture, as they attempt to stop Darkseid before his presence on Earth destroys reality. He Twitters via @chriskennett on, uh, Twitter.

Toby Halligan

Toby’s a stand-up comedian, sketch writer, radio thinger, and improviser who, more importantly, owns a Maltese Cross called Bernie. If you enjoy political comedy he regularly performs at satirical room Political Asylum and co-writes diaryleaks.com.au. He tweets at @Toby_Halligan.

Danny McGinlay

Brad Wing-Quay

Brad Wing-Quay is a Melbourne based writer and photographer who never quite learnt his lesson when people told him to ‘be quiet’. In early 2010, Brad began his ‘A Day In The Life’ self-portrait project using ‘The Beatles’ music catalogue to chronicle a year in his life. You can regularly find him drinking cups of tea, singing songs you had worked hard to forget and questioning why he has a ginger beard when his hair is black. Follow him on Twitter at @bradwingquay.

Tom Whitty

Tom Whitty is The Project's best-looking writer (followed by the blue guy in KB Barker's photo, who is clearly a distant second). Tom's also a producer, which he thinks makes him more important than the other writers. While he probably has the authority to fire the other writers (especially Chris Kennett), he doesn't, because, like Jesus, he's a forgiving boss, not an angry boss. And that's why the other writers don't just look up to him, but also love him, like a father. Tom Whitty tweets at @twhittyer at Twitter.

KB Barker

A part-time writer but a full-time human, KB has been in TV for longer than he cares to remember. (Well, he can remember, but you don't care.) KB has written for Rove, Full Frontal, Skithouse, 5th Grader and multiple Aria Awards, and is also a regular audience warm-up at The Circle and The Project. He tweets to a small and regularly offended following at @kynanb.

Gerard McCulloch

Gerard McCulloch was a long-time writer and general behind-the-scenes meddler at The Project. He liked coffee, food, history, architecture, shipwrecks, puns, and dominating office trivia sessions. One day, he threw his computer across the room, donned warpaint, picked up a spear, and stormed out of the office, muttering something about Facebook trolls and vengeance. No one has seen him since. He's still @drjavabeans at Twitter.

Aleisha McCormack

Aleisha McCormack is a writer, performer and comedian. In 2007, Aleisha made it to the national finals of the stand up comedy competition, Raw Comedy. Since then, Aleisha has gone on to perform stand up comedy regularly throughout Australia. Aleisha lives in Melbourne. She is a massive fan of soft cheese, singing TV themes and watching Lost. Aleisha and The Project have now amicably broken up, but we're hanging on to her blogs because they represent a happy time in The Project's life. 

Daniel Burt

Daniel Burt is a comedian, writer and performer who has written for The Glass House, The Einstein Factor and interned in the Writing Department of The Late Show with David Letterman. Daniel's debut stand-up show Yes Man Syndrome sold out at the 2010 Melbourne International Comedy Festival. He's @trubnad on Twitter and www.danielburt.com.au on the rest of the Internet. Daniel decided that it was time to move on from The Project's writers' room, but promised that we'll still stay really good friends.
