BRISBANE
Rugby fans, it’s time to wack on your boots and get down to Skilled Park as the 2012 Rugby League season kicks off with the Harvey Norman Rugby League All Stars match, featuring the Indigenous All Stars going head to head against the NRL All Stars. The match has sold out the last two years so if you want to go, you’d better get clicking soon.
MELBOURNE
You’ll have the ‘time of your life’ at Movie Moves, as you learn the classic dances featured in some of your favourite movies (unless that includes the movie Striptease of course but let’s face it, that is pretty unlikely). All sorts of routines will be featured but hopefully not the Lambada because as we all know, that is the forbidden dance. Shimmy over here for the details. It’s on here too!
PERTH
More Fringey fun is to be had at Fringeworld; the sprawling arts, comedy, cabaret, dance and theatre event that’s taken over Perth like a friendly, tap-dancing giant and will not let it go until the 19th of February. So many amazing things to see and do, and it all starts with a click.
ADELAIDE
Keeping Adelaide well ahead of the cultural curve this weekend is the Lost City Festival; a swirling, extrasensory line-up of noise, electronica, post-rock, composition and psychedelica. Open your mind, relax and float down stream as Adelaide uncovers the best in avant garde and experimentational music. In keeping with the feel of the festival, the link is hidden somewhere else in this blurb (though not very well).
SYDNEY
Time to sweat up a storm (hopefully not an actual storm...that’s getting a little old now) as Sydney welcomes back for its second lap, The Sydney Morning Herald Sun Run. Sunny fun runners will joyfully scamper the beautiful 6.5km course from Dee Why to Manly in order to raise money for charity while secretly getting a pretty big kick out of receiving a commemorative medal as well. Entries are closed for the running bit but you can still go and support your favourite scamp while eating a snag and checking out the scenery.
