A mystery box challenge - in which fellow evicted-but-readmitted contestant Jimmy Servai chose the ingredients – saw Courtney and a weepy Claire Winton-Burn adjudged the bottom two performers.

With Jimmy’s chosen ingredients favouring his strength in curries, several contestants were challenged by the requirement to make both a savoury and sweet dish.

Courtney’s dhal was hailed as the best of the day by judge Matt Preston, but her caramelised onion pakora was described as “stodgy” and “undercooked.” Her crêpes with ginger and lemon curd failed to see her through.

Servai’s advantage failed to help him to top spot, which was awarded to a beaming Callum Hann.
