Republicans say people no longer care about the monarch's big day, and we should change the public holiday to something more relevant to Australia.
"The Queen's birthday has become a pretty lacklustre event when it is compared to other national days such as Anzac Day and Australia Day," the movement's chair, Major General Michael Keating, told the Courier-Mail.
"It is not widely celebrated anymore and hasn't been for decades. Really, it's just a day off work.
Suggested replacements include Citizenship Day, National Appreciation Day and Reconciliation Day.
All states except WA will get a day off work on Monday.
