Canadian Nicholas Sangineto travelled all the way from Quebec to work as an electronics and IT analyst on the Arctic P.
But it wasn't plain sailing, with Sangineto told to pack his bags after just a week on board.
Despite signing a confidentiality agreement, Sangenito has told the Daily Telegraph that crew are bound by two pages of guidelines to be happy sailors.
Those heard speaking negatively, making complaints or not taking a team approach could be asked to leave.
But Sangenito is still trying to come to terms with why he was dismissed.
"I do not think I am annoying," he told the paper.
"They flew me out but after a few days onboard I was told that my services were no longer required because the crew did not like me and I wasn’t fitting in.
"I can't believe a billionaire would act like that."
