New findings published in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology show that while a little jab of the toxin does smoothes out and paralyse its target area, those wrinkles simply get picked up elsewhere.
And the bridge of the nose is believed to be particularly susceptible.
"Paralysis of a set of muscles might lead to recruitment of other muscle groups in an attempt to reproduce the conditioned activity being blocked — resulting in more prominent muscle activity in adjacent regions," reads Dr. David Becker's report.
But New York dermatologist Dr. Neil Sadick has rejected the findings.
"It’s really the overall global improvement that you see with Botox treatments that leads to lesser lines on the entire face," he told Fox News.
