The Esperance Rotary Club is driving the plan to build a carbon copy of one of England’s most famous attractions, hoping it can boost tourism in their own backyard.

"We thought it would be better to have something uniquely Esperance … but I think it could be a really stunning attraction,” tourism association president Heather Gee told Perth Now.

"It's made out of Esperance pink granite and it’s the only full size stone replica in the world."

More than 100 stones will be needed to construct the replica on Twilight Beach.

While $300,000 in funds has already been raised, an estimated $900,000 more is still needed.
