A Qantas spokesman said the man was restrained in his seat after behaving in a "threatening and disruptive manner".

Passengers seated near the man believed he may have been under the influence of drugs or alcohol, if not both.

The man was escorted from the plane upon arrival at Changi Airport.

It's been a bad fortnight for Qantas, with technical faults such as an engine surge and a cracked windshield causing delays on a number of flights.
