The Broncos assistant coach found himself downing a few drinks at the Normanby Hotel after the team's depressing 48-16 loss to the Warriors.

By the end of the session, he was dancing on a table wearing nothing but his underwear and a headband.

Later, he was reportedly caught by police driving with a blood alcohol limit of 0.15.

The Broncos have suspended him until his court case next month.

"He's very upset, he's very emotional about it, he's extremely remorseful," says the club's chief executive, Bruno Cullen.

"He's apologised and all those sorts of things.

"He's not in a very good way at all actually."

A spokesman for the hotel says Langer's strip routine "caught everyone by surprise".

"It must be kept in perspective that his actions were meant to be in fun and to be entertaining but it is also inappropriate to be dancing on tables because of safety concerns."
