Ruth Flowers has found her calling as a DJ, and can be found on weekends in the clubs pumping out a mix of electro house and old school beats for the kids.

Flowers discovered her passion for the energising music at her grandson's birthday and set about becoming a DJ.

"I went in and it was very noisy and the lights were flashing, but there was an awful lot of energy and joy," Flowers told Reuters.

The pensioner was trained over four years by French producer Aurelien Simon, who taught her to spin records and develop her own style.

Flowers is currently working on a single, which is due for release later this year.
